As discussed in the sixth lesson for this free Bible study, the Hebrew people freed from Egyptian captivity received a new land, a new law, and a new King (God). As Israel entered into this special period of its history it was a “united” kingdom.
Israel could and should have been content to be united by God, but it wanted to be like others and thus requested an earthly king. God permitted His people to have an earthly king (Saul), and Saul reigned for forty years. The united kingdom then continued for another forty years as David became Israel’s second king. Then Solomon came to power and he also reigned for forty years.
After providing some information about Saul, David and Solomon, this free Bible study concludes with some fill-in-the-blank and multiple choice questions.
