True Source of Energy

Let the power go out during a storm, and we quickly realize how much we depend on electricity.  First appearing in homes in America a little over a hundred years ago, it has become the source of almost all our energy. We dam up rivers to generate it, dig out coal to produce it, use windmills to create it, and the sun capture it. We are not happy campers if we lose it for even a few minutes!

The true source of power is God. He created the rivers, the coal, the wind, and the sun, from whence comes all our energy.  He is also the source of all our spiritual energy. Is anything more powerful than love? “God is love,” and “We love because He first loved us” (1 Jn. 4: 16,19).

God sent us His son which in turn gave us “the gospel… the power of God for salvation” (Ro. 1:16). He gave us the dynamic energy of prayer and invited us to address Him as “Our Father” (Mt. 6:9). Last but certainly not least, He has the power to resurrect the dead, with His own son being “the first fruits of those who are asleep” (1 Co. 15: 20).  While we crave the material things that run on electricity, many have disconnected from the true source of power: the God of Heaven. Sadly, this leaves many souls living in spiritual darkness.
