On that day the dash will be all that matters since it will tell the story of what value we have placed on the great gift of life (1 Corinthians 6:19, Romans 12:1, Romans 14:8, Philippians 1:21, 2 Tim. 4:6-8).
Enjoy this great gift of life. Rejoice and be happy each day as you travel down the pathway of life (Ecclesiastes 2:24, 3:13; 1 Thessalonians 5:16, Philippians 4:4; James 5:11, 1 Peter 4:14). Yes, enjoy every moment of this earthly existence but learn from Solomon the vanity of not thinking about, of not planning ahead for that day when these earthly bonds will be shed and we fly away (Eccl. 2:8-10, 12:8, 13-14). As we travel through this life may our love for and our trust in God know no bounds (Isa. 12:2-3; Mark 2:30). Every day we should be fervently seeking those things above with our affections set on things above (Col. 3:1-2) ever laying up treasure in heaven (Matt.6:19-21). To our faith let us add virtue, knowledge, temperance, patience, godliness, brotherly kindness and love (2 Peter 1:5-11). Today, live your life in such a way that you can say, “I live, yet not I but Christ liveth in me” (Gal. 2:20).
